PCMC Residents In Pune Can Now Book Parking Slots Instantly via WhatsApp

In a major step toward smarter urban mobility, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has rolled out a WhatsApp-based parking system. The new ‘Pay and Park’ service allows citizens to book parking slots from their phones—no paper tickets, no manual receipts.

Launched during the civic standing committee meeting, the facility is currently active at 10 key locations across Pimpri Chinchwad.

How the WhatsApp Parking System Works

Booking a slot is as simple as sending a message on WhatsApp. Once booked, the system reserves the spot under the user’s name for a fixed time. If the vehicle doesn’t arrive within that window, the slot is released for others to use.

Users receive instant notifications for every step—from booking confirmation to slot expiration—ensuring smooth and real-time updates.

Digital, Paperless, and Conflict-Free

The platform offers a live view of available slots, booking history, and upcoming time limits—all within WhatsApp. With no paperwork involved, the service eliminates confusion over availability and minimizes parking disputes.

Smart alerts keep drivers informed, helping avoid overstays or missed windows.

Backed by Leadership, Designed for the Future

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh inaugurated the service at the Late Mayor Madhukar Pawale Hall during a civic meeting. Several department heads and city officials were present at the event.

According to Joint City Engineer Bapu Gaikwad, this system will improve parking flow and ease traffic congestion by cutting manual dependency.

A Model for Digital Urban Services

This new system reflects PCMC’s commitment to digitizing essential services for citizens. It’s designed to be efficient, user-friendly, and scalable. If successful, it could be expanded citywide—and even serve as a model for other urban areas in India.

For PCMC residents in Pune, booking a parking spot is now just a WhatsApp message away. This digital push not only reduces traffic chaos but also supports the city’s vision of becoming more tech-driven and commuter-friendly.

As Pimpri Chinchwad continues to grow, such smart solutions will be key to shaping a sustainable urban future.
